We have decided to add one of our most favorite and famous Jamaica Christmas food. The most popular Jamaican Christmas food is Sorrel. This is the traditional drink that is only prepared during the Christmas Time. Though some Jamaican companies are trying to make it a popular drink all year round. It does not sell as much at any time than during the Christmas season. This really means that you can get the Jamaican Sorrel Drink. We have added it so our browsers and users can get a great taste of the Jamaican isle.

The most popular Jamaican drink during the Yule tide season with a touch of rum.

ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Appleton V/X rum
  • ½ cup grated ginger
  • 1 dried orange peel
  • 1 tbsp cloves crushed
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 lb. sorrel seeded
  • ¼ cup rice grains

preparation

Wash sorrel and place in a jar then add ginger, orange peel and cloves. Add boiling water cover and let stand for two days. Add rum, sugar and rice grains and let stand for another two days. Strain mixture and store.
